2008 Poster
Designed by Grand Rapids artist Yolanda Gonzalez, the 2008 Tulip Time poster “She Loves Me Not” introduces a new level of poster art unlike any image Tulip Time has featured in the past. Limited edition 24” x 36” signed giclée prints, 18” x 24” and 8”x10” posters, notecards and mugs are available for purchase. Posters may be purchased below, notecards and mugs may be purchased here.
Inspired by common objects like nature, children’s art, pop culture, and vintage dress patterns, Gonzalez creates colorful, simple images using gouache, acrylics, and colored markers. She finds these media appealing because they are flexible, forgiving, allow her to get her ideas down quickly, and reveal the brushstrokes or imperfections that lend her work a handmade feel.
After earning a visual communications degree at Ferris State University and working in a newspaper art department, Gonzalez began freelancing following the birth of her son. She works for local and national clients such as Opera Grand Rapids, the Nokomis Foundation, the Grand Rapids Community Foundation and Herman Miller, and she remains active in the local art community, including UICA, the Grand Rapids Art Museum, and the Red Thread Project. Her work has been seen in On-The-Town, Real Simple, and Bicycling magazines, as well as Print, Communication Arts, Martin Dawber’s Big Book of Fashion Illustration, and the American Illustration 25 Online Portfolio.
The 2008 poster is available as a limited edition giclée canvas print. Giclée is well known in the art world and takes reproduction of an artist's painting to a new level. Each limited edition Giclée of "She Loves Me Not" comes signed by the artist and includes a certificate of authenticity. Read more.
