2010 Poster
The Tulip Time Festival is pleased to announce the 2010 poster artist Randall Higdon and his original watercolor painting, "Reaching for Light." The inspiration for this painting came from a group of tulips Higdon viewed in Centennial Park during a previous Tulip Time Festival. The tulip variety comes from the Lily Flowering Tulip Family and is called White Triumphator.
Born and raised in Michigan, Higdon is a graduate of Kendall College of Art and Design in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Since 1978, after six years of graphic design and illustration in commercial advertising, he has devoted his energies to fine art painting. Randall Higdon is a signature member of the prestigious American Watercolor Society and the American Society of Marine Artists. Higdon was also the 1994 Tulip Time Festival poster artist.
The 2010 poster is available as a limited edition giclée cotton fiber print. Giclée is well known in the art world and takes reproduction of an artist's painting to a new level. Each limited edition giclée of "Reaching for Light" comes signed by the artist and includes a certificate of authenticity.
