Tulip Time Announces Addition Of Two New Shows To 2012 Schedule

Holland, MI - Tulip Time Festival (www.tuliptime.com) announces Chicago's legendary sketch comedy theatre, The Second City's Laugh Out Loud Tour, is joining the entertainment line-up. In addition, a second performance of The Doug Gabriel Show has been added.

America's famed comedy troupe, The Second City, will appear at the Knickerbocker Theatre on Friday, May 11, 2012 at 8:00 p.m. From the company that launched the careers of Tina Fey, Stephen Colbert, Steve Carell, Gilda Radner, Bill Murray and more, comes the next generation of the comedy world’s best and brightest in an evening of hilarious sketch comedy and Second City’s trademark improvisation. Whether it’s ripped from the morning headlines or a classic gem from their 50-year archives, The Second City is always a laugh out loud hit. Tickets for The Second City performance are $22.

Due to a near sell-out of the Thursday, May 10th performance, a second performance of The Doug Gabriel Show has been added on Wednesday, May 9th at 7:00 p.m. at the Knickerbocker Theatre.

”We were excited to see how quickly the tickets sold for the Thursday night performance of The Doug Gabriel Show and were very pleased that we were able to add the Wednesday performance,” says Gwen Auwerda, Tulip Time Festival Executive Director. “Doug Gabriel has local ties to the community, so we weren't surprised to see the level of interest. His in-laws, Loren and Joy DeGroot, reside in Grand Rapids and are looking forward to a nice visit and also attending one of the performances.”

For the first time ever, Branson’s Male Vocalist of the Year – Doug Gabriel and his Number One Hits Tribute Show, will be performing at the Festival. The Doug Gabriel Show is full of variety for all music lovers featuring the number one hits of over 35 different artists. Tickets for The Doug Gabriel Show are $28.
