Tulip Time Festival Announces New Board Members
Holland, MI – January 2013. Tulip Time Festival (www.tuliptime.com) announces the naming of two new Board members, Amanda Cooper and Jason Pasatta. Amanda Cooper has served as the Director of Advancement at Zeeland Christian School (ZCS) since 2010. Cooper helps share the ZCS story with potential families, donors, and supporters. Prior to joining Zeeland Christian, she worked as Senior Account Executive at The Image Group in downtown Holland. At The Image Group, she worked with nonprofits and local ministries throughout the Holland and Zeeland area as well as across the country. Cooper also serves on the Board of Directors for Camp Roger, a rustic Christian camp in the Grand Rapids Area. She brings strong community relationships and public relations experience to the festival.
Cooper states, “Serving on the Tulip Time Board is just a small way for me to show my gratitude for the Tulip Time Festival that I’ve enjoyed for 35 years. I love everything about Tulip Time- the beautiful costumes, the dancing, the bands, the food vendors, the flowers. I’m excited to be part of this wonderful community celebration of heritage and traditions!”
Tulip Time Festival also welcomes Jason Pasatta to the Board. Pasatta is the Development Director for Career and Technical Education within the Ottawa Area Intermediate School District (OAISD). Within this position, he has developed and is championing the FuturePREP Program, which has the two main goals of seeing that all high school graduates (1) attend some form of post-secondary education and (2) develop the skills to be successful in both post-secondary education and a career. Prior to joining the OAISD in 2010, Pasatta worked for the Chicago Public Schools as the Technology Magnet Administrator. While there he developed and implemented a Technology Magnet Program within 19 schools from across the city, many of which were located in Chicago’s highest-needs neighborhoods. He now lives in Holland with his wife, twin daughters, and newborn. He recently graduated from Leadership Holland and is currently serving on the Board of Education for the Holland Public Schools.
Pasatta states, “I welcomed the opportunity to be a part of Tulip Time because I wanted to help support and shape a community celebration that is such a big part of my neighborhood. Hopefully, this will be something that my family and children will be a part of for generations to come.”
