Open the doors to one of the best collections of Dutch Masters in the country at the Holland Museum. The collection houses the history of America’s Holland – from the settlement of Van Raalte’s pioneers, through the devastating fire of 1871, how Tulip Time began and what makes us “so happy” today. Another must-see are the museum’s Dutch Galleries which house 17th, 18th, and 19th century Dutch art and furniture, including Rembrandt’s “Seated Beggar.”
Cappon House & Settlers House Walk into life as we used to know it. Witness the life of the early settlers of 1867 in the restored home of an immigrant family. A few doors down visit the stately home of Holland’s first mayor – Isaac Cappon. In touring each authentic home experience, visitors are surrounded by artifacts from the museum’s collection and can reflect on the progress and history of Holland.
