VanderZee to Manage Tulip Time Festival While New Director is Sought

HOLLAND, MI - The Tulip Time Festival Board of Directors Tuesday appointed current Festival Office Manager Sara VanderZee to serve as the interim manager for the event. VanderZee has been employed by the Festival for the past nine years. "Sara has a great working knowledge of the Festival and the many facets of its operations," says Mark Zietow, Festival Board Chair. "Her assistance will be greatly appreciated during this time of transition as the Board begins the task of looking for a new executive director."

HOLLAND, MI – April 23, 2010. The Tulip Time Festival regrets to announce the Matt Giraud Concert, which had been scheduled for May 1, 2010 in Holland, has been cancelled. Although it was the wishes of the Festival organizers to provide Tulip Time participants with a Matt Girard Concert, the event has been cancelled for reasons beyond the control of the Festival. Representatives of Matt Giraud indicated that he is unwilling to perform the concert for the compensation that had been offered.

Tickets are refundable and purchasers may receive their refund from the original place of purchase. Again, the Matt Giraud concert scheduled for May 1, 2010 in Holland has been cancelled. The Tulip Time Festival and its organizers apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.

Tulip Time Festival Announces Parade Grand Marshals
Holland, Michigan – April 20, 2010. The Tulip Time Festival is pleased to announce the 2010 Grand Marshals. The Wednesday, May 5 Volksparade honors long-time former Mayor of Holland, Albert H. McGeehan. The Kinderparade, taking place Thursday, May 6, welcomes “Maranda” Lori Cook as its Grand Marshal. The Meijer Muziekparade on Saturday, May 8 welcomes Grand Marshal, Miss Michigan 2009, Nicole Blaszczyk.

The Tulip Time Festival is celebrating the 35th anniversary of men participating in Dutch Dancing. This celebration will be commemorated by former and current male Dutch Dance members marching in the Tulip Time Festival Meijer Muziekparade, on Saturday, May 8. A casual social event is also being held on Friday, May 7 at 7pm.

Tulip Time Run Details
HOLLAND, MI – March 4, 2010, Blue Cross Blue Shield and Blue Care Network of Michigan presents the annual Tulip Time Run on Saturday, May 1, 2010. Come, run and stay for the day. Kick off the Tulip Time Festival with a run through the beautiful, color-filled Tulip Lanes of Holland, Michigan. The run will start at Christ Memorial Church parking lot at 8:00am.

Recreational 3-on-3 basketball event at Kinderplaats 2010.

There will be three divisions for children ages 2 through 12. Divisions will split into the following age groups: 2 through 5 year-olds, 6 through 9 year-olds, 10 through 12 year olds.

Games will start at 12:15 a.m. on Sunday, May 2^nd at Kinderplaats at 6^th and Central Ave.
