Tulip Time Announces First Round of Entertainment, Pre-Season Tickets On-sale and Group Discounts
HOLLAND, MI – October 1, 2008. The Tulip Time Festival (www.tuliptime.com) is excited to announce the 80th Anniversary headline entertainment line-up for 2009. Pre-season tickets for all shows will be on-sale beginning October 8, 2009 online at www.tuliptime.com or via phone 1.800.822.2770. For prime seating options it is advised to order tickets as soon as possible. Office hours are Monday-Thursday, 9am-3pm.
Jan Mulder will kick off the festivities on Saturday, May 2, 2009, 7:30pm at Central Wesleyan Auditorium. Jan Mulder’s talent is recognized globally. Born and raised in the Netherlands he has been very successful in Europe with his concerts and television appearances including a performance at Soestdijk Palace, residence of the Queen of the Netherlands. Complete with full orchestra and choir Mulder’s masterful piano playing and his brilliant compositions will awe and inspire you. A unique twist to this delightful performance is experiencing his three sons (12, 14 and 16 years) performing on the grand piano six handed! Tickets are $37 main floor, $32 balcony and $27 galleria.
Sunday, May 3, 2009, 6pm at Holland Civic Center the #1 Beatles show in the world, 1964 The Tribute, will take audiences on a musical journey to an era in rock history that defined future generations. Enjoy songs from the early 60’s live Beatles concerts with period instruments, clothing, hairstyles and on-stage banter. “1964” is not affiliated with or endorsed by Apple Corps. Ltd. Tickets are $24 adults, $10 children (4-12), 3 & under are free.
Thursday, May 7, 2009 at 4:30 and 8pm features Bobby Vinton live in concert at Central Wesleyan Auditorium. His legendary hit songs have become classics: Roses Are Red, Blue Velvet, Mr. Lonely, Melody of Love and many more. A show business great. The total entertainer. If you have never seen Bobby Vinton you have never been entertained. One of America’s top concert performers, his songs are recognized as standards throughout the world and his music has retained its vitality and relevance through our changing times. Tickets are $38.
Friday, May 8, 2009, 8pm at Central Wesleyan Auditorium Tulip Time hosts The Oak Ridge Boys. Theirs is one of the most distinctive and recognizable sounds in the music industry. The four-part harmonies and upbeat songs of The Oak Ridge Boys have spawned dozens of country hits and a #1 pop smash earning them Grammy, Dove, CMA and ACM awards along with a host of other industry and fan accolades. Their string of hits includes the pop chart-topper Elvira, Bobbie Sue, Dream On, Thank God For Kids, American Made and many others. Tickets are $38.

• Love, Sex and the IRS a farce by Billy Van Zandt and Jane Milmore and presented by Holland Civic Theatre on Saturday, May 2 and Tuesday, May 5 -Saturday, May 9 at 7pm and Sunday, May 3 at 2pm. Tickets are $20.
• Wooden-Shoe-Be-Doo performed by Holland High School Vocal Dimensions on Thursday, May 7 at 5pm and 8pm and Saturday, May 9 at 7pm. Tickets are $14.
• Barbershop on Parade on a NEW day Saturday, May 9 at 7:30pm. Tickets are $16.
• Curtain Going Up presented by Evergreen Commons on Monday, May 4-Friday, May 8 at 11am. Lunch included. Tickets are $22.
• New Odyssey on Saturday, May 2 at 7:30pm, show only. Tickets $20. Monday, May 4–Saturday, May 9 at 6:30pm, show with dinner. Tickets $37.
• A Taste of Holland on Wednesday, May 6-Friday, May 8 at 8:30am. Full breakfast buffet included. Tickets are $14.
