Tulip Time Festival Announces Tulipalooza Line-Up

HOLLAND, MI – February 26, 2009. The Tulip Time Festival is enhancing the Tulipalooza Outdoor Concert Series due to the overwhelming success of 2008. This year’s Tulipalooza event runs Wednesday, May 6 through Saturday, May 9. Sixth Street Stage is located at 6th Street and College Avenue, Holland, MI. Each night is a celebration of various musical genres, community, food, and fun. Budweiser and New Holland Brewing will host the beer tents on Thursday, May 7 through Saturday, May 9. The Tulipalooza Outdoor Concert Series is an ALL AGES EVENT. Details for each night are listed below:

Wednesday, May 6 – Family Fun & Car Show
Featuring: Family Traditions Band & Antique Car Show
Time: 6-9 pm (Cars arrive at 5pm)
Cost: $5 per car to exhibit, $5 person (or) $15 per family of 4 or more
Enjoy this great entertainment value featuring an antique car show. With WHTC DJ opening for Family Traditions Band, performing family friendly musical favorites. Any antique car is welcome!

Thursday, May 7 – Alternative Rock
Featuring: Pop Evil & Fledfive
Time: 6-10pm
Cost: $12 in advance, $15 day of
Pop Evil, a WGRD favorite and nationally touring band, recognized by iTunes as “Best New Artist,” will rock the stage with their commanding presence and great guitar licks. Fledfive, featured on WGRD Bootleg CD, will open with their powerful modern rock.

Friday, May 8 – Blues & Funk
Featuring: Jordan Lunardini & The Lynn Thompson Band
Time: 6-10pm
Cost: $8 in advance, $10 day of
LAV hosts Jordan Lunardini with his raw punch of edgy blues-rock, combining old school tradition with a high-energy sound. Face-melting guitar solos and a driving rhythm section are what the group is best know for, but underneath lies a deeper sense of musicianship. The Lynn Thompson Band’s cool funk, soulful sounds and upbeat drumming will move your mind and body!

Saturday, May 9 – 80s Band/Indie Rock/Variety
Featuring: Starfarm, Sweet Japonic, Bless You Boys & Jonathan Weppler
Time: 5pm-Midnight; 10pm 80th Anniversary Fireworks Celebration
Cost: $10 in advance, $12 day of
Get “totally radical” with Starfarm! Featuring musical flashbacks from the 80s. Save your sweet tooth for Sweet Japonic delivering a flavorful blend of Rock, Soul, Funk and Blues. Indie rockers Bless You Boys will draw you in with their inventive harmonies and unique melodies. Warming up the stage will be the 2009 Lakeshore Idol Winner, Jonathan Weppler.

Save money and get your tickets in advance. All advance tickets are discounted. Plus, the festival is offering a Packaged Ticket Deal that includes admission to the Thursday, Friday, and Saturday Tulipalooza Outdoor Concert Series for only $27. This is a savings of $10 based on day of rates.
VIP tickets are available on a limited basis for Thursday, Friday and Saturday. VIP tickets are $35 and include admission to one night of Tulipalooza, premier concert location, private bar and restroom, and light snack. VIP tickets for Thursday also include admission to the after hours party at Curragh Irish Pub with Pop Evil. VIP area is for 21 and over only.
Sponsors of the Tulipalooza Outdoor Concert Series include: WGRD, LAV, WHTC, VAN, New Holland Brewing, Budweiser, Metal Flow, Semco Energy, Dodge, National City, Qdoba and Black & Veatch.
