Tulip Time Festival Launches Pilot Kinder Dance Program

HOLLAND, MI – February 12, 2009 –Tulip Time Festival (www.tuliptime.com) announces an exciting new addition to the already successful Dutch Dance Program – Kinder Dance. This parent organized and run pilot program is comprised of 22 children from 3rd to 5th grade (ages 8-10 years).

The Kinder Dance Group will be performing an authentic Dutch Dance known as “De Schoenlapper.” The performances will also include information about their Spakenburg style costumes. See the Tulip Time Festival website or spring brochure for Kinder Dance schedule.

“With Dutch Dance being such an integral part of the Tulip Time Festival and our local schools, the prospect of an elementary program was very appealing,” says Tamra Bouman Executive Director, Tulip Time Festival. “It was decided to test the concept for one year through selected volunteers to determine if a long term commitment by parents, dancers, schools, and staff is desired. It is our hope to be able to offer this opportunity to all interested participants in 2010 and beyond. Meanwhile, this is an exciting pilot program that promises to entertain during the festival.”
