Tulip Time Festival Welcomes STARSHIP and The Coasters, Drifters & Platters to the 2010 Entertainment Line-Up - Tickets on Sale Now!

HOLLAND, MI - October 28, 2009. The Tulip Time Festival (www.tuliptime.com) proudly welcomes musical guests STARSHIP, The Coasters, Drifters, & Platters and many other events to the 2010 entertainment line-up.

STARSHIP Starring Mickey Thomas - Friday, May 7 at 8pm, $23 - $30.
The Tulip Time Festival welcomes the Multi-Platinum, award-winning band Starship starring Mickey Thomas. Known for his soaring voice, Mickey propelled Starship through its multi-decade, chart-topping era. With his soulful and compelling vocals, Mickey has established himself as one of Rock music’s most recognizable stars. Every Starship album released has gone Gold, Platinum or Multi-Platinum. The band’s portfolio of hits include “No Way Out”, “We Built This City”, “Sara” and “Find Your Way Back”.

The Coasters, Drifters, & Platters – Thursday, May 6 at 7pm, $35.
This outstanding event features three history making, record breaking, Rock and Roll Hall of Fame legends. Their hits throughout the 50’s and 60’s created a new realm of music lovers and a platform for Rock and Roll that still lives on today.

The Coasters had 10 top 40 legendary hits including, “Young Blood”, “Yakety Yak”, “Poison Ivy”, “Searchin’” and “Charlie Brown”. The Drifters were one of the biggest selling bands of all time with 16 Top 40 hits including, “There Goes My Baby”, “Save The Last Dance For Me”, “Up on the Roof”, “On Broadway” and “Under the Boardwalk”. The Platters recorded 21 Top 40 hits including such legendary classics as “My Prayer”, “Smoke Gets In Your Eyes”, “The Great Pretenders”, “Twilight Time” and “Only You”.

Wally’s Warehouse Waifs – Wednesday, May 5 at 7:30, $20.
New this year, playing the music of the masters from the early New Orleans days through the Swing and the Big Band eras, the Waifs merge their magical mix of talents to create jazz in its purest form. This is an experience of fresh melodic ideas moving from heart to horn – demonstrating why jazz was invented and what it is meant to be.

Local show title updates include: Puttin’ on the Hitz presented by the Holland Chorale; The Butler Did It by Tom Kelly presented by the Holland Civic Theatre; Barbershop Parade of Quartets presented by the Holland Windmill Chorus; Gotta Sing, Gotta Dance Luncheon Show presented by Evergreen Commons.

Additional local favorites returning to this year’s festival include: Fireworks to be held on a NEW day - Saturday, May 1; Quilt Show being held at a NEW location - the Holland Area Arts Council, 150 East 8th St., Holland; Tulip Time Salute; Wooden Shoe-Be-Doo; Dutch Heritage Show; New Odyssey Dinner Show.
