Tulip Time is offering photography enthusiasts a unique opportunity to see one of Holland’s top tourist attractions through the eyes of a professional photographer. Photography buffs can join photojournalist Mike Lozon on an exclusive early-morning photo shoot of Windmill Island Gardens in full festival bloom. Mike will share tips and tricks on how to achieve the best results for shooting landscapes and architecture before leading the hands-on tour around the beautiful island gardens.

Open to all levels of experience and devices. Participants must bring their own equipment.

Dress for the weather accordingly. This is a rain or shine event; no refunds.
$35 per person (includes admission to Windmill Island)

NEW! All participants of the Tulip Time Photo Walk have the option to submit one (1) photo taken during the photo walk to be selected as Best Picture. There will be three (3) winners selected, one per session, who will be awarded a Photography Quick Guide created by Mike Lozon, and will be featured in the Tulip Time Festival website, brochure, and social media accounts. 

Participants must submit their best image via email to Mike Lozon by Friday, May 18 at midnight, EST. The email address will be provided to participants on event day. Winners will be announced Friday, May 25, 2018.

Mike Lozon is a writer, editor and photographer who spent the first part of his career working for newspapers throughout Michigan. He left the newspaper business in the 1990s to start The Write Way, a business specializing in the creation of personal memoirs, and the histories of Michigan businesses and nonprofit organizations. He started Freestyle Photography in 2014 as an offshoot of his writing and editing business. He has taken photos for the Holland Area Visitors Bureau, Outdoor Discovery Center, Tulip Time, Holland Historical Trust, Windmill Island, and Holland Area Arts Council, where he is a photo instructor. A Holland resident, he received his bachelor’s degree in photojournalism from Central Michigan University.
