Downtown Holland Businesses to Participate in The Big Give

The Big Give is back! On Saturday, February 1, Downtown Holland will be thanking the community for their support in a BIG way! That day, over 30 Downtown Holland businesses will be donating 15% of all sales to non-profit organizations all day long. Each participating shop and restaurant will be selecting a deserving organization that they’re passionate about supporting. The more you shop and dine in Downtown Holland on Saturday, February 1 during the Big Give, the more good you’ll help Downtown Holland do in the community!

Tulip Time is excited to announce that Orange Leaf Frozen Yogurt has chosen the festival as their non-profit beneficiary for The Big Give! Orange Leaf Frozen Yogurt offers freedom from average every day option. From flavors, cups, and cones, to smoothies, shakes, and cakes, the sky’s the limit as to what sweet treats guests can create. Tulip Time festival, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, has offered nearly a century of culture and family fun to West Michigan. Since 1929, the city of Holland has blossomed with literally hundreds of thousands of tulips – and an equal number of tulip-lovers who attend the spring festival. And the celebration is so much more than tulips… with national entertainment acts, markets, events and activities for all ages, breathtaking sights just off the shores of Lake Michigan and some of the largest parades in Michigan. Orange Leaf’s donation during The Big Give will help fund the Tulip Time General Fund, allowing the festival to continue to provide its many free and favorited community events.

“Our Downtown Holland business owners appreciate the support they receive all year long from the local community,” said Downtown Holland Marketing Coordinator Kara de Alvare, “The Big Give is their way of giving back, as it allows them to support non-profit organizations that are doing such great work right here in the local community. Last year, over $16,000 was raised for charity and our goal this year is to be able to donate at least $20,000.”

Downtown Holland will also be partnering with Ottawa Food to host a food drive to support local food pantries as part of The Big Give. Ottawa Food is collaboration of local agencies and individuals that exists to ensure that all Ottawa County residents have access to healthy, local, and affordable food. Customers can donate a healthy, non-perishable food items at any participating business on February 1. As a thank you, you’ll be entered to win a $100 gift card to the Downtown Holland business of your choice!
