Tulip Update - May 6, 2024
Tulip Update as of Monday, May 6, 2024
At Tulip Time, we do our very best to make sure the festival lines up with the flowering season. Unfortunately, Mother Nature has the final say on when the tulips bloom and when they fall.
This year, due to an early blooming season and the rains and winds over the past weekend, many of the tulips have passed their blooming period.
As you come to enjoy the festival, we would like your expectations to be in line with what you're likely to see. The tulips are only about 1/3 in bloom in most of the parks around the city and about 1/4 in bloom at Windmill Island Gardens.
It is still possible to grab some nice photos in our public parks if you’re willing to find the right spot. We believe most public tulips will be done by tomorrow (Tuesday, May 7) or Wednesday (May 8).
How to find Tulips
There are still tulips at the Tulip Immersion Garden, located at Beechwood Church. This exhibit is a display of 65,000 closely packed, perfectly bloomed tulips in raised beds that create the perfect photo opportunity for you, your friends, and your family.
